Screencasting for Library Tutorials

I enjoyed this assignment a lot! First reason being I think screen-casting is an easy way to present or give a tutorial virtually. I do tend to be nervous in person and can forget major points because I get frazzled, but being able to present in the comfort of my own home made the process easier. The second reason I enjoyed this assignment is because I do like the website I discussed. I didn’t just pick it for the sake of the assignment, I love doing reader’s advisory! 😃

My love for Novelist Plus is one reason my video is waaay over three minutes. Please forgive me! It’s hard to cut it down to size when I want to give a well-rounded presentation that hits all major points. Overall, the process OF screencasting was easy, but it was setting up and preparing that was time consuming. I originally own a Chromebook which does not support a lot of video editing things because it lacks hardware or hard-drive (something like that, in any case it kind of sucks!). So, I had to switch to a different computer. Then, once I set up on the different computer, an issue came up where I couldn’t get it to record my voice. So, I had to fiddle around with it until I could get it to accept my voice/microphone. These issues might annoy someone who isn’t good with technology. However, because I’m fairly knowledgeable about simple computer stuff, I know to be patient until I can fix it.
